Raymond Julius FETTIG, 88, of Petoskey, died April 11, 2001, at Bortz Health Care of Petoskey.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 14, at St. Francis Xavier Church in Petoskey. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 13, at Stone Funeral Home, Petoskey.
Ray was born Nov. 22, 1912, in Petoskey, the son of Julius and Elizabeth (WEBBER) FETTIG. He grew up in Petoskey.
On June 10, 1937, he married Edith MARTINCHEK. Ray worked for Penn Dixie Cement Co. for 35 years and also ran the family farm.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening and working in the woods. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier parish.
Ray is survived by his wife, Edith, and by their children, Ray (Jean) of Escanaba, Grant (Mary Ellen) of Grant, Dennis (Kathy) of Alanson, Steve of Petoskey, and Edith Sue (Larry) LANE of Kalamazoo; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Walter (Ann) of Saginaw, Leon (Betty) of Petoskey; two sisters, Josephine FETTIG of Petoskey, and Tillie JUNEMAN of Saginaw. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward, Frank and Joseph, as well as two sisters, Mayme STEFFEL and Christine QUINLAN.
The family requests memorial contributions be directed to the American Lung Association.
