Eldon was a son of William Albert Goodchild and Eunice Lorraine Chase. Eldon never married.

Last Rites Held For Eldon Goodchild
Funeral services for Eldon Goodchild were held in the Havelock Methodist Church at 2p.m.Tuesday of last week with Rev .A. A. Howe officiating. Mrs. Fred Klein and Mrs. Art Ralle were in charge of the floral arrangement. Mrs. Richard (Myrtle) Logan and Mrs. Eugene Dyvig accompanied by Mrs. John Whitman sang "One Sweetly Solemn Thought" and "The Lord Is My Shepherd". Six nephews, Claude Hansen of Cylinder, Darwin Goodchild of Dickens, Freddie and Jack Goodchild of Mallard, Harlan Goodchild of Powell, Wyo., and James Goodchild of Forest City were pallbearers. Burial was in Washington Cemetery. Attending the funeral from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Goodchild and daughter, Elaine, Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Goodchild and daughter, Marilyn, of Powell, Wyo., and Mrs. R. A. Ginder of Gallatin, Mo. Eldon Chase Goodchild, son of William Albert and Eunice Goodchild, was born at Havelock, la., on July 10,1905, and passed away on March 15,1957, in the Reid hospital at Bethany, Mo., at the age of 51. He was baptized by a Methodist minister at Havelock in 1919. He spent sometime in Montana where he served on the police force for a period of five years. In 1951 he bought a farm near Gallatin (Clay County), Mo., where he resided at the time of his death. Eldon never married. He leaves to mourn his passing the following brothers and sisters: Ella Ogden and Elizabeth Hansen, both of Cylinder, la., Sula Ginder, Gallatin, Mo., Mildred Hopkins, Laurens, la., William Goodchild, Havelock, la., Lester Goodchild, Dickens, la., Fred Goodchild, Mallard, la., and Clayton Goodchild of Powell, Wyo. His parents and two brothers, George and Harlen, preceded him in death.
