Family and friends said goodbye to RUTH ANDERSON PADFIELD on August 9, 2003. She died peacefully during her 91st year after a 3 week long illness in Houston. She was born on October 21, 1912 in Fern Creek, KY (Near Louisville). Ruth was preceded in death by her husband W.C."Pad" Padfield in 1994 and her two sisters. She leaves her beloved children, Don Padfield and wife Adrienne of Georgetown, Texas, Bob Padfield and wife Linda of Conroe, Betty Knowles and husband Bill, and Bill Padfield and wife Mimi all of Houston, her wonderful nine grandchildren, and her adored eighteen great grandchildren who affectionately called her "Gigi". Ruth had been a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church for many years where she sang in the choir until recent times. She was a former member of The Houston Symphony Chorale. She was a member of The Living Bank and lived at Clarewood House for almost 10 years where she loved participating and sponsoring improvements there such as a stained glass window in Pad's memory and remodeling of the Chapel. Ruth was a loving, giving, caring, joyful person, living out her purpose in life to make others feel good about themselves. She tried to be a friend to all. The family plans a Memorial Service Celebrating Ruth's life on August 24, 2003 at 2pm at the Clarewood House Chapel at 7400 Clarewood, Houston, TX 77036. A reception will follow immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Ruth's Name be directed to Clarewood House Charitable Trust for Residents' Assistance, 7400 Clarewood, Houston, TX 77036, American Red Cross or a charity of your choice.
