Called by Death
Bruce West, 74, or Norwich, a retired farmer, died at 11:45 o'clock Monday night at Muskingum County hospital following an illness of 10 months.
He was born at Rix Mills on Sept. 16, 1878, a son of John and Leora Hammond West. He operated a farm in the Norwich vicinity until five years ago when a broken hip forced his retirement.
He attended the Methodist church.
His wife, Allie Darner West, died five years ago, and three brothers and four sisters also preceded him in death.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Harry Rusk of 1268 Linden Avenue; a son, Russell West of Norwich; three brothers, Milo, Thomas and Howard West of Norwich; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The body is at the Hearing-Bryan-DeLong funeral home.
