Mary Emaline Curtis was born in Butler county, Pennsylvania on September 11, 1851. In 1874 she was married to William H. Curtis, and together they came to Oregon 26 years ago, settling in Merlin where Mr. Curtis passed away 10 years ago. Mrs. Curtis then came to Grants Pass to be with her son who later moved to Klamath Falls. Two weeks ago Mrs. Curtis went to Klamath Falls, where she died on Thursday, July 24.
Mrs. Curtis is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Witters of this county, and Sadie M. Donaldson, of Nebraska, two sons, D. J. Curtis of Portland, and R. P. Curtis, of Klamath Falls, and two brothers, Eli F. and Samuel J. Meals of Weed, California.
The remains will he brought to Grants Pass and the funeral will be conducted at the Christian church Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Interment will be at the Pleasant Valley cemetery.
