The Lehighton Press (Lehighton, PA), Friday, April 8, 1910:

"Death Of Mrs. James Ziegenfus – Mrs. James Ziegenfus, one of the best known residents in this vicinity, died on Sunday night at the residence of her son Lewis where she had been making her home. She was born at Eckhartsvalley and was aged 80 years, 3 months and 6 days. Several weeks ago she was taken ill with the grip and this with the infirmities of old age hastened the end. She was a kind Christian woman and had a large circle of friends and acquaintances. She is survived by four sons and one daughter: Lewis, Wilson H., Albert A., all of Millport, and S. M. Ziegenfus, of South Bethlehem; Mrs. James Hartman, of Weissport. Four brothers and three sisters also survive: Joseph Eckhart, of Millport; Samuel, Abraham and David Eckhart, Mrs. Susannah Beer and Mrs. Adam Christman, all of Upper Towamensing, and Mrs. Kate Christman, of Lehighton. The funeral will be held from the home of Lewis Ziegenfus at 9.30 o'clock this (Friday) morning with services and interment at Towamensing Church. Rev. H. E. Moyer and G. W. Royer will officiate."
