Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Theresa Abdalla will be held at 11 a.m.Thursday (Sept. 13) in St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas with burial in
Holy Sepulcher Mausoleum.

The Rev. Tremie will conduct the services.

Mrs. Abdalla, a resident of Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas, died at 9:30 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2001, in Opelousas General Hospital. She was born in February 1905 in New York City, N.Y.
(It was stated in her daughter's obituary "Beverly (her daughter) was a present member of the Orphan Train Society of Louisiana, her mother Mary Tujague, was one of the original Orphan Train Children.")

She was involved for many years with the Mother's Club of A.I.C.; past head of the local Cancer Drive; past member of the Altar Society of St. Landry Catholic Church; was a member of the National Council of Catholic Women (NCCW); and was a Den Mother for many years of the Cub Scouts of America.

Our Heavenly Father has welcomed a beautiful new angel-Mary-beloved wife of Jake- devoted Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother. We will always remember a sparkling smile and gentle way. She was a love always.

Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Beverly (Abdalla) Johnson and Ms. MaryAnn Abdalla, both of Opelousas; three grandchildren, Holy Johnson and husband Don Davis of New York City, N.Y., Mrs. Heather Barron and husband Keith of Opelousas, and William Hale Johnson and wife Pat of Opelousas; and three great-grandchildren, Jeremy Barron, Brianna Barron and Lee Johnson.

Mrs. Abdalla was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Abdalla; her parents, Gustave Tujague Sr. and Alma Richard Tujague; and two sons, John Jacob Abdalla and Jake Abdalla Jr.

Thursday until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m.
