MURFREESBORO,TN--Herman Eugene Turner, 90, of Murfreesboro, died Monday, October 17, 2011.
He was born in Iowa Falls, Iowa, the son of the late Esker and Ilda Hutchins Turner.
Mr. Turner lived most of his life in Muncie, IN, where he was a member of the Eden Church of Christ and was a carpenter. Mr. Turner served his country as a Marine during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Orlena Myers Turner.
Mr. Turner is survived by his children, David Turner and wife, Cinda, of Plymouth, MI, and Richard Turner and wife, Gail of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Andrea Suzanne Turner (Kevin Coleman), Michael Turner, Rod Turner, and Ryan Turner (Tina); five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, October 24, 2011 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Road 3, Muncie, IN. Pastor Jim Behrendt will officiate the service. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie, IN. Visitation will be on Monday from 12:00 noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
