Rosetta 8th of 13 children was born in Canada to Henry Weishuhn and Maria Markle She immigrated with her parents and siblings when she was only 5 years old to Michigan. They settled in the Mason, Bay Co (later Arenac Co)area.

Rose married John Thompson on July 3, 1889 in Maple Ridge, Arenac, Michigan. Together they raised 5 daughters.

Rose and John farmed in the Clayton, Arenac area for 25 years and finally in Richland, Ogemaw.
