William B. Shaw
Died Thursday
In Shongaloo
William B. Shaw, age 78 years, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1932, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. May Lewis of Shongaloo.
He was born at Cottage Grove, La., but lived his life in the Evergreen community, where he had a host of friends. He was preceded in death three years ago by his wife, Sudie C. Shaw. The deceased is survived by six sons, two daughters and one sister, Mrs. Neely Chancelor of Germantown, east of Minden. The children are: Mr. Jess L. Shaw of Jacksonville, Texas; Clyde B. Shaw of ElDorado, Ark; Mr. J. Felix Shaw of Kilgore, Texas; Mr. John J. Shaw of Canton, Miss., Mr. W. Harper Shaw of Homer, La., Mr. R. Pierce Shaw of Belcher, La.; Mrs. May Lewis of Shongaloo and Mrs. Demma Benefield of Shongaloo, La.
Mr. Shaw was ill only one week, his death being caused by pneumonia. The children were all present at his death except one son, Clyde B. Shaw, who is confined to the hospital in El-Dorado, Ark.
The funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at the Evergreen church. He was buried in the family lot in the Evergreen Cemetery.
The family wishes to extend their thanks to their many friends for kindness and consideration during the time of their bereavement.
