Daughter of Marquis Lafayette Cooper and Rosanna "Rosie Ann" (Strome) Harraman.

First married Thelbert Steward in Cass County on September 8, 1907. He died in about 1910, and per a message board entry on Ancestry posted by Barbara Lockaby, he could have died after his horse fell and he suffered an injury to his chest by the saddle horn. His burial is unknown.

Maggie and Thelbert had two known sons:

*Jesse Lee Steward (1908-1968)
*Roy C. Steward (1910-1974)

Maggie then married Robert V. Birt "Shorty" Vaughan sometime between 1910 and 1913, probably in Mitchell County, Texas. Together they had at least 10 known children:

*Mary Bell Vaughn (1913-1989)
*Audie Marie Vaughn (1915-2005)
*Cecil Vaughan (1917-1973)
*Ludie Arzara Vaughn (1919-2005)
*Lillie Jewel Vaughn (1922-1990)
