Harry was the oldest child of six children born to Adrian C. Logan and his wife, Ethel M. Carey. Harry was a PFC in US Army during World War II. He was inducted on February 28, 1943 at Camp Dodge, Iowa. Harry was a demolition expert and served in the European Theatre. He received many medals including the French Cross. Harry married Nancy Jane Pierce; the third of eight children born to H. H. "Harry" Pierce, Sr. and his wife, E. "Irene" Hanes. Harry and Nancy celebrated their wedding on September 8, 1945 in Richton Park (Cook County), Illinois. Harry and Nancy were troop leaders in the Boy Scouts for many years. Harry also served as scouting commissioner for the Calumet Region. They had eight living children; seven sons and one daughter. Harry worked for the Illinois Central Railroad for almost twenty-five years. He was an electrician and carpenter, also. Harry enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hiking, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed reading "Zane Grey Westerns" and watching the Chicago Blackhawks hockey games. Harry was 48 years, 10 months and 27 days old when he died.
