Burnette E. Johnson - Pueblo Chieftain - February 06, 2003 - Burnette E. Johnson, age 94, of Pueblo, passed away on Feb. 2, 2003. She was born in Bennington, Neb., on July 28, 1908, a daughter of the late Albert and Eva Neal Leach. She is survived by a daughter, Nola (Kenneth) Fowler of Pueblo; son, Loren V. Johnson of Columbus, Neb.; three grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Chase V. Johnson, three sisters and three brothers. Burnette was the former owner/operator of a used furniture and antique shop in Pueblo. She was a member of Rebekka's Cactus Star No. 2 Lodge in Pueblo, former president of the Pueblo Art Guild, as well as an accomplished painter and leather tooler. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at Roselawn Cemetery Chapel. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. The family does want to thank Belmont Lodge for the special care given to Burnette.

*Burnette was born to Caroline "Lena" Schneider and Emil "Edward" Cook. Lena passed away shortly after Burnette's birth and she was adopted by Albert Z. Leach (1854-1927) findagrave memorial# 107659891 and Eva J. Neal (1871-1936) findagrave memorial# 107659912
