Charles W. Boone born April 26, 1928, passed away on October 20, 2011. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be remembered by many for his open and friendly manner, his ready smile, his wonderful stories and sense of humor. He was a man who believed his handshake was as good as his bond, and lived his life with this straight forward principle. He was baptized and received into the fellowship of Jesus Christ and Rebels Creek Baptist Church, Boonford, North Carolina on May 10, 1943.

He was a career service man who spent almost 29 years in the U.S. Air Force. One of the more memorable events of his career was when he was asked to attend the induction ceremony for his brother, Dr. John McLucas in July 1973, who was sworn in to serve as the United States Secretary of the Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents John Nathan and Viola Conley McLucas Boone, 5 brothers and 4 sisters , He is survived by his wife, Nora Pamintuan Boone, his two daughters, Luci Brown(Carl) of Tallahassee, Florida and Charlene Maskell (Matt) of Atlanta, Georgia. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Savoy and Shanna Brown, and his two great grandchildren, Dylan and Gabriel Brown. He is also survived by his brothers Worley (Bud) and wife Lois of Conover, North Carolina, Howard and wife Miriam of Snellville, Georgia, Donald and wife Laura of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Ronnie of Spruce Pine, North Carolina; sister Margaret Howell of Kingman, Arizona and sister-in-law Fe C. Pamintuan of the Philippines, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Emerald Coast Funeral Home, Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, on Monday, October 24, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Emerald Coast Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. with internment to follow at Beal Memorial Cemetery. He is buried in the Prayer Section.
