Dorothy attended one-room Rutts School, walking a mile each way. She helped take care of her younger brothers and sisters and worked on the farm.
During her adult years, she worked at Hesteco Dress Factory. She also stayed with families to help with the children and household duties. She enjoyed crocheting and embroidery. Dorothy was a member of Elizabethtown Mennonite Church for most of her life.
She is survived by two brothers, Wilbur Frey of Lancaster and Claude Frey of Elizabethtown, and four sisters, Mary F. Ritchie of Timberville, VA, Erma F. Schnabel of Souderton, PA, Nancy Longenecker of Lancaster, and Lois Frey of Elizabethtown. She was predeceased by brothers, Paul, J. Harold, Martin L., Ralph, Elias Jr., and Earl D. Frey.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Miller/Sekely Funeral Services, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, at 11:00 AM. There will be no viewing. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will take place in Elizabethtown Mennonite Church Cemetery.
