'Vessel Overdue' - The schooner 'Corean' , 37 tons, owned by Messrs. H& A. Locke, sailed form Lockeport, January 20th for Barbados, and as nothing has been heard of her since, she is supposed to be lost. her crew were are follows: - John Dunn, captain, married a few days before sailing, leaves a wife and mother; Matthias Collins, mate, leaves a wife and two children; James Clifford, steward, married - all of Lockepot; Ian McCuaig, a native of Glasgow, Scotland; Clement of Guysboro; and Thomas McGowan of Summerville, Queens County, seaman, unmarried.

'Cannot find in Registry, Schooner 'Corean' in which Captain Allison Dunn (John Allison) sailed and was lost.If we rightfully remember he was hurried to sea with a badly stowed cargo. Captain Dunn was one of our finest men. Matthias Collins was a boy chum of ours.' Also, No. 26, February 19, 1881
