Narcissa J. Blain 1836 – 1910

Effie was 16 years old when she married James Daniel Graves, 25, in Jack Co, TX on September 30, 1886.

Effie gave birth to their son, James A., in 1889. He died in 1890.

They had been married 13 years; Effie had given birth to 5 children, but only 4 were living. They were buying a farm where James worked to support the family.

Effie's mother, Narcissus J. McCaw, age 83, was still living with them. She was a retired public school teacher.

Effie died from a Cerebral Hemorrhage at their home in Jacksboro at 7:50 p.m. on March 7, 1937. She had lived 66 years, 10 months, & 6 days. Her husband, James, was the informant on her death certificate. She was buried on March 8.
