Larry D. Batten, 59, of Palestine, W.Va., passed away Oct. 17, 2011, at Camden Clark Medical Center, St. Joseph's Campus.
Larry was born Aug. 23, 1952, the son of the late Lloyd Virgil Batten and Marjorie Batten. He was a farmer having raised Tennessee Walker horses.
He is survived by his mother; two sons, Alexander (Paige) Stanley and Dean Batten, both of Parkersburg; three brothers, Gary (Mabel) Batten of Belleville, W.Va., David (Linda) Batten of Elizabeth, and Paul (Nicki) Batten of Elizabeth; two sisters, Gloria (Michael) Dupont of Billerica, Mass. and Brenda (Kenneth) Cooper of Parkersburg.
He was preceded in death by his father, one daughter, Lauren Marie Batten, and one granddaughter, Jayleigh Alexis Stanley.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. today at Fairview Cemetery in Wirt County with the Rev Danny McVey officiating.
