She was an invalid from an early age - in 1911, aged 7, she was at a convent hospital at Clewer, Windsor - separated from her family who were living in Lambeth with her uncle Walter Fowler, the brother of her widowed mother. One can surmise that she was recovering from Rheumatic Fever. On her Death Certificate the causes of death were Tuberculous Bronchopneumonia and Rheumatic Endocarditis. She was much loved by all.
