Services for William H. (Bill) Easterling, 52, of 2727 Shannon St., Jackson, were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday from the Mims Mitchell Funeral Chapel in Magee with Interment in the Athens Cemetery. Officiating was Rev. John Hilburn with Mims Mitchell Funeral Home of Magee in charge.
The retired Air Force Master Sergeant died Sunday, Sept. 6, 1970, at the Doctors Hospital in Jackson. He was born in Covington County on Sept. 23, 1917.
Easterling was a former KOTC instructor at the University of Mississippi and part owner of Industrial Steam Cleaners, Inc.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sarah C. Easterling, Jackson; two daughters, Mrs. Sarah Barnes, Vicksburg, and Mrs. Betty Vernamonti, Dayton, Ohio; four brothers, Earl D. Easterling, Collins, J. L. Easterling, Ellisville, DeWitt Easterling, Fullerton, Calif., and Ray Easterling, Los Angeles, Calif.; five sisters, Mrs. Lennie Atwood, Hattiesburg, Mrs. Earnie Ashley, Collins, Mrs. Maggie Kennedy, Magee, Mrs. Annette Hill, Jackson, and Mrs. Dora Lee Aultman, Columbia.
