Mrs. Lizzie Bartee Allen, wife of the late J. T. Allen, a prominent Jackson lumberman, died early Sunday morning in Birmingham, Alabama, where funeral services were conducted Tuesday.
She was a former longtime resident of Jackson, and had made her home in Birmingham for the past several years.
Mrs. Allen was a former member of Calvary Baptist church.
Her husband, familiarly known as "Mr. Tom", and brother of Mrs. W. W. Westbrook, Sr., of Jackson, died January 22, 1940.
The last member of her immediate family, her only survivors are a number of nephews and nieces, including Mrs. J. W. Tucker, Jr., of Jackson.
Final rites will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. from the graveside in Cedar Lawn Cemetery, with Dr. Joe H. Tuten, pastor of Calvary Baptist church, officiating.
