The fourth child of the late Thomas Wesley Smith Sr.,
and Mary Pauline Prewitt Smith.
She was born on August 4, 1919, in Alvin, Texas.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Howard Bird; her parents ; son, Curtis Anthony Bird; brothers, Thomas Wesley Smith Jr.; William Prewitt Smith; sisters, Marion Smith Duncan; Dorothea Smith Hines.
Survivors include her children, Ben Bird ( Lourdes); Ray Bird ( Mary Jennings Bird); Nancy Bird Mellen (Ron); nine grandchildren;
seven great- grandchildren; three sisters, Jimmie Green (Thurman);
Laurene Patterson;
Margaret Roussel (Wilson).
