Mr. Dorsey, a resident of Lafayette and a native of Mackover, Ark., died at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, September 6, 2001, at his residence. He was a mud engineer and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Dorsey was a graduate of Opelousas High School and received a B.S. degree from USL in geology. He worked for N.L. Baroid Oil Field Service Company for many years until his
retirement.
Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Patricia Brignac Dorsey of Washington; two
daughters, Ms. Ann Dorsey of New Orleans and Mrs. Denise Dorsey Laborde of
Lafayette; a brother, Dan Dorsey of New Orleans; and three grandchildren,
Michael Laborde, Mathew Laborde and Ethan Laborde, all of Lafayette.
Mr. Dorsey was preceded in death by his parents, Mayo Dorsey and Ethel Coon Dorsey.
