John Theodore Bearss was a very early pioneer in the cranberry growing business in Central Wisconsin. His marsh was located in what is now known as Cranmoor, Wisconsin. After several years of growing cranberries, they sold their marsh and moved to Porterville, California, where he engaged in the citrus growing business.
