Graveside funeral services will be held in the West Side District Cemetery for Taft resident Dora Veda Awbrey, 86. The Rev. Sam White, pastor of the Cuyama Assembly of God, will officiate at the services.
Mrs. Awbrey was born in Bois Darc, Missouri on March 29, 1910, and passed away September 6, 1996 in Springfield, Missouri, while visiting family. She had lived in Taft since 1972.
She was preceded in death by a son, Sammy Awbrey, in October 1979 and her husband, Sampson Awbrey, in September 1993. Survivors include her children, her brothers, her sister, a step-sister, 12 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
