The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, September 14, at Oasis Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
She was born October 17, 1935, in Stokes County, to the late Lowell Frank and Vealie Sullivan Stevens. She was a member of Oasis Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who will be greatly missed by her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Steven Franklin Shown.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Billy Franklin Shown; her daughter, Lena "Candy" Foulks; grandson, John "Johnny" Foulks, all of Madison.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Thursday, September 13, at Colonial Funeral Home, and all other times at the residence.
The family would like to thank the staff and nurses on 400 hall at Britthaven of Madison and second floor staff and nurses at Morehead Hospital for their care and kindness to Mrs. Shown. Thank you friends and church family for your support.
