FUNERAL OF SPRINGDALE PIONEER FRIDAY P.M.
Funeral services for John S. Bookout, pioneer of this county, who died suddenly Sunday morning at his Springdale home, will be held Friday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock with interment in Bluff Cemetery, Springdale. Rev. E. F. Rice of the Baptist church will officiate. Funeral services have been delayed five days following death to enable a son, Carl Bookout, and a daughter, Mrs. Sophy B. Harvey, both of South Dakota, to arrive.
Mr. Bookout was 80 years old and was perfectly well up to the time of his death. He arose at 5 o'clock Sunday morning and went for a glass of water. Returning, he took a seat upon the edge of the bed and fell over dead.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Amanda Bookout, and two daughters, Miss Beatrice Bookout and Mrs. Lola Bookout Graham, both of Springdale, besides the children previously mentioned; a brother, Jesse Bookout of Texas, and more distant relatives. His first wife was Miss Ada Bridenthal of Fayetteville. The deceased was born in this county(not correct) and had lived here all his life.
