PEKIN - Howard R. Daugherty, 71, of Pekin, Ill., passed away Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, at his residence.
He was born July 5, 1940, in Pekin, Ill., to Howard G. and Helen Fitzanko Daugherty.
He married Kathleen A. Miller on Nov. 14, 1981, in Pekin. She preceded him in death on April 9, 1997. He was also preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
He is survived by his two sons, Randall (Sarah) Daugherty and Justin Daugherty; grandson, William Daugherty and sister, Teresa Johnston. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.
Howard worked for Mueller Electric, in Washington, Ill., retiring, in 1992. He was a member of the Electricians Union Local 34 and he was an avid fisherman.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude.
A funeral service will be held Monday, Oct. 17, 2011, at 11 a.m., with a visitation one hour prior at Abts Mortuary in Pekin. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, in Pekin.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Abts Mortuary for arrangements.
