Lloyd E. "Mutt" Tinder, 80, Platte City, a former business owner, died Feb. 11, 1991 at the North Kansas City Hospital.
Mr. Tinder owned the Platte County Sale Co. in Platte City from 1959 to 1976 and owned Tinder's Meat Market there from 1975 to 1984. He was a former Platte City alderman, a former commissioner of the Platte City Special Road District, and a past president of the Platte County Fair board. He was a member of the Weston Christian Church. He was a lifelong Platte City resident.
Survivors include his wife, Nannie Tinder of the home; four daughters, Marjorie Cox, Weston, and Mary Swindler, Nancy Layton, and Mildred Knighton of Platte City; two brothers, Walter Tinder, Weston, and Guy Tinder, Leavenworth; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church, Platte City; burial in Platte City Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at the Rollins Chapel, Platte City. The family suggests contributions to the First Baptist Church memorial fund, Platte City, or to Help Inc., Weston.
