Cleveland "Cleve" Steele Lee, age 56, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 in Houston, Texas.

A memorial service will be held Friday, October 21 at 11:00 a.m. in the Bolin Chapel at First Baptist Church of Katy, Texas. Graveside service will be at Mt. Marion Cemetery in Strawn, Texas at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 22. The Reverend Jason Lee will officiate.

Cleve is preceded in death by his parents, Grover Cleveland and Betty Jo Lee; three siblings, Grover Lee III (Skipper), D'Anne Lee and Glenda Moses; and his beloved nephew, Buddy Williams.

Cleve was born April 9, 1955 in Ranger, Texas and was the seventh of eight children. He is survived by three sisters, Tammy Williams and husband Dale, Judy Lee, and Audrey Vodehnal and husband Ron; and one brother, Gary Lee and wife Gayle. He also leaves behind 49 nieces and nephews and his two beloved cats, Tamiko and Nicolas.

Cleve graduated from Lamar High School in 1973 and attended University of Houston. The majority of his career was in commercial sales with the hotel industry. Over the years, he had developed strong friendships and business relationships with many people.

Cleve was a devoted and loving brother and uncle. He was a rare human being with a delightful sense of humor, a genuine love of family, a heart bent toward helping others and a strong faith in God that helped him through many trials in his life.

Cleve loved people and never met a stranger. He was well versed on many subjects and enjoyed engaging in lively conversations. He also loved German chocolate cake on his birthday, a pound or two of fudge at Christmas, disco music and Liza Minnelli. One of his most exciting moments was meeting Liza backstage at her concert. He traveled extensively and one of his favorite places to visit was London.

Cleve had a zest for life and for living and his unexpected and tragic death has left his family with a deep void. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him but his memory will live on in our hearts and in our spirits. We rest in the assurance that he is now in the loving arms of the Lord.
