His family moved to Taft shortly after his birth, and Ed attended local schools here, graduating from Taft Union High School, with the Class of 1935.
He enlisted in the United States Army in 1936, and served until 1939.
In 1942 he married the former Helen Allan in St. Mary's Catholic Church.
From 1947 until his retirement in 1974, he was employed as a head mechanic for the Marathon Oil Company.
Ed was a member of the National Rifle Association.
He is survived by his wife, his three sons, his two daughters, his brother, his three sisters, and seven grandchildren.
