Amanda was born the daughter of Daniel and Mary Green (nee Carr)

We can trace her lineage through her maternal line. Her maternal grandfather was Robert Carr (or Kerr) (1754-1837) of Bucks County, Pennsylvania who served as a Private in the American Revolutionary War.

Her two of her sons would have incredible military careers and resumes that would rival any LinkedIn member. How they got there is a mystery, as her husband was a shoemaker and then a "news dealer" by 1880.

A few of her grandsons would follow in their father's footsteps, and their sons, and their sons as well.

Her great-great-great granddaughter would find her name in 2014 on a registry of the Sons of the Revolutionary War - linking her heritage to the Nation's beginnings.
