The 1880 Federal Census for El Dorado, Arkansas (Union County) shows Madison, age 18, born in Arkansas, and living with his father, Marshall, a farmer, age 58, born in Alabama; and his mother, Rebecca, age 46, born in Alabama. Also living in the household were Madison's siblings: Daniel, age 19; James, age 16; Emma, age 14; Robert, age 12; John, age 10; Walter, age 7; Eddie, age 5; and May, age 2; all born in Arkansas.
On June 23, 1881, in El Dorado, Arkansas (Union County), Madison, age 23, married Sarah Harden, age 17. The marriage is recorded in the Arkansas, County Marriages Index, 1837-1957.
Madison died December 21, 1907 in Oklahoma, and was buried in the Lexington Cemetery in Lexington, Oklahoma (Cleveland County).
