Estherville – Services for Mrs. Lydia B. Swan, 84, will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John Besore III and Dr. Merrill Summerbell officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. She died Wednesday, June 17, 1987 at Rosewood Manor.

Friends may call at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home after 9 a.m. Monday.

She was born Jan. 24, 1903 at Lone Rock, the daughter of August and Hulda (Rosendahl) Schmidt. On Sept. 24, 1921 she was united in marriage with Frederick Swan at Lone Rock. The couple farmed in the Lone Rock area from 1930-1938; then north of Gruver until his death in 1966. She continued to live on the farm until Oct. 1965 when she lived with her daughter Elaine until entering Rosewood Manor in January 1987.

Survivors include a son Earl, Ames; six daughters: Mrs. Robert (Elaine) Rezac, Dolliver, Mrs. Henry (Evelyn) Schauberger, Fairmont, Mrs. Terry (Mary) Anderson, La Mirado, Calif., Mrs. Gene (Dorothy) Martin, Simpsonville, S.D., Mrs. Jim (Leta) Husske, Humboldt and Mrs. Jim (Donna) Hurney, Mobridge, S.D.,; 36 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren and one brother Arnold Schmidt, Bruce, S.D.
