The deceased was born February 1, 1883 in Penn Township, the son of Samuel and Annie (Stover) Gill. He was united in marriage to Pearl Rinker, who preceded him in death December 27, 1937.
Surviving are nine children, Mrs. Edgar (Marie) Grove, Huntingdon R.D. 3; Clyde Gill, Hesston R.D.; Charles Gill, Elizabeth, N.J.; Lahmer Gill, Huntingdon R.D. 1; George Gill, Huntingdon R.D. 3; Mrs. Earl (Nora) McElwain, Phoenix, Arizona; Mrs. Melvin (Mildred) Hardy, East Waterford R.D. 2; Leonard Gill, North Ridgeville, Ohio; and Mrs. James (Edith) Blair, Huntingdon R.D. 1. Sixteen grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren survive. One brother, John Gill, Huntingdon, also survives.
Gill was a farmer and a carpenter. He was a member of the McConnelltown United Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 26, at 2 p.m. at the Haverstock Memorial Home, McConnelltown, with the Rev. Edward Gobrecht and the Rev. James O'Hara officiating. Interment will be made in the McConnelltown Cemetery.
