Edward F. Heckmann Dies Thursday After Ailment

Edward Frederick Heckmann, 62, a life-long resident of town Meeme, passed away on Thursday evening at Sheboygan Memorial hospital where he was confined by a heart ailment. He was born in town Meeme on June 11, 1881, the son of Mr. and Mrs. M. Carl Heckmann. On Feb. 10, 1917, he was married to Miss Clara Wessel of town Herman. The couple operated a dairy farm in town Meeme township since. Mr. Heckmann was treasurer of the Mineral Spring school No. 4 district for 18 years, and served on the board of directors of the School Hill cheese factory since it was organized in 1927. For the past 12 years he has served as secretary- treasurer of the Zion Evang. Lutheran church at Louis Corners.
The survivors include his widow, three children, Delores, Manitowoc; Rogent, Cedarburg, and Evelyn, at home; four sisters, Mrs. Augusta Schultz, Port Washington; Miss Agnes Heckmann, Highland Park, Ill.; Mrs. Emma Voss, Cleveland, Wis.; Mrs. Elsie Phillips, Sheboygan; four brothers, William of Illendale, N. Dak.; Henry and Hanford of the state of Washington; Elmer, Menomonie, Wis.; and Cranston, Spring Valley. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:15 o'clock on Monday at the Meiselwitz Funeral home in Kiel, where the body may be viewed after 12 o'clock on Sunday noon, and at 2 o'clock at the Zion Evang. Lutheran church in Louis Corners, the Rev. Harold O. Grunwald will officiate. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. The casket will not be opened in the church.
