CARMEL VALLEY – To all our family and friends, it is with great sadness that we announce our beloved Mel and Elizabeth passed away tragically and unexpectedly on Monday, January 29, 2007.
Melvin Noble Grimes was born on September 10, 1948 in Kansas City, MO, and lived most of his life in Carmel, CA. He graduated from Carmel High School, UC Santa Barbara, and Golden Gate Law School, and had practiced criminal defense law in the Carmel area since 1973. Mel was a quiet and gentle spirit, a wonderful friend, and was so in love with his wife. He had a zest for life and a passion for running, surfing, old rock and blues music. Mel was a loving stepfather to Tommy and taught him how to be a wonderful husband and father, and he truly adored his new granddaughter, Lovelynn, and his nieces and nephews.

Mel and Elizabeth were soul mates who loved each other deeply and are sadly missed by all. Private services will be held for family and close friends. Our family wishes to sincerely thank all of their friends for your amazing outpouring of support and love. God bless you.
