Hollywood Agent. One of the first successful females in her profession, she guided the careers of a generation of film's leading lights. Raised in Utica, New York, from early childhood she later lived in the Bronx and following secretarial training landed a receptionist's job with the M.C.A. talent agency in 1955. She worked as a secretary with the William Morris Agency but gradually took on greater responsibilities, having Broadway star Julie Harris as her first client, and by the time she joined Creative Management Associates (C.M.A.) was a major player on the Hollywood scene. Sue's list of clients was both large and exclusive, including Barbra Streisand, Faye Dunaway, Steve McQueen, and Cybill Sheppard, and when International Creative Management (I.C.M.) was formed by a 1975 merger her power was at its zenith. With the changing of times, however, her flamboyant style and brash manner were no longer effective and when she lost Streisand after 1980's "Yentl" bombed at the box office her career suffered a significant blow. Sue retired in 1986 but was to spend three years with William Morris before finally leaving the business for good in 1991. In later years she continued to be a popular hostess even after the 1996 death of her husband, Belgian director Jeanne-Claude Tramont, with her Beverly Hills home serving as something of an artistic salon. Sue died of pneumonia which followed a protracted illness. Though she never appeared on screen herself she was portrayed by her client Dyan Cannon in 1973's "The Last of Sheila".
