Purley C. "Pete" Drumm, 84, a retired bus driver, died Thursday evening at Lancaster General Hospital. Death was unexpected, but he had been under a physician's care. A resident of 85 Highland Drive, he was the husband of Frances C. Eckman Drumm. A lifelong Lancaster County resident, Drumm was a bus driver for the Conestoga Transportation Co., now the Red Rose Transit Authority. He retired in 1974. He was a member of the Amalgamated Transit Union, Local 1241, and a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II. He was a member of Lamberton Lodge 46, Free and Accepted Masons; the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Lancaster Forest 27; and Zembo Temple, Ancient Accepted Order of the Noble Mystic Shrine, Harrisburg. Born in Martic Township, he was the son of the late Peter and Jenny Jenkins Drumm. Surviving besides his wife are a son, John C., Lancaster, and a sister, Vera Neyer, Conestoga.
