Wiggins, 68, of Caney died Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 3:40 p.m. in the Caney Municipal Hospital. He had been in ill health for about three years and was admitted on Nov. 9. Services were Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Graves Memorial Chapel in Caney with burial at the Sunnyside Cemetery. Rev. Orley Hermon officiated. He was born April 6, 1906 near Pawhuska, Oklahoma, to John and Aurelia (Dickerson) Wiggins. The family moved to Elkhart in 1911; Cedar Vale in 1923; Sedan 1944; and to Caney in 1957.e married Mae Bohannon in Sedan on July 2, 1927.He was employed in Civil Service from 1941 to 1944 and later operated a radio and television shop at Sedan and Caney. He worked for 11 years at the Port of Entry at Caney, retiring in 1971. He had been an amateur radio operator since 1927.He was a member of the World Wide Church of God at Joplin, Missouri, and a Caney Lions Club member. Survivors include his wife of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Janice)Alford of Independence; one son, William L. of Caney; six grandchildren; and one sister, Stella Mundy of Cedar Vale.Preceding him in death were two sons; two brother, and three sisters.
