Marlene P. West 1932 ~ 2006 Marlene Parker West , age 74, passed away on September 19, 2006. She was a beloved wife, mother and friend who will be greatly missed. Born February 6, 1932, Salt Lake City to George Henry Parker and Thelma Solomon. Graduated from South High School, 1948. Married September 25, 1952 to John Douglas West in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was an active, faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of LDS, serving in various positions in the church, family and community including a service mission as a hostess at the LDS Church Office building (from 1998 to 2004). She was optimistic and cheerful with all, loved dearly her family and was extremely dedicated to them. Survived by her husband John Douglas West , children Greg (Marta), Mark (Sherrie), Lori, Blake (Raili), Darren(Amiee), Marla and Rochelle(Earl), 23 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, sister Myrl Goffe and brother, Ardell Parker. Preceding in death by her parents and three sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at Mountain View Memorial Mortuary, 3115 East 7800 South (Bengal Blvd.). A viewing will be held Friday Sept. 22, from 6-8 p.m. at the Forest Bend Chapel, 7800 So. Highland Drive, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral. Interment at the Mountain View Cemetery.
