From "Physicians of Tift County," Volume 1 compiled by Martha Sue Williams Pittman and published by members of thee Women's Auxiliary to the Tift County Medical Society, 1972, page 37, his parents were Jeptha Boulware Pickett, Sr. and Nancy Elizabeth Raines Pickett.
Dr. Pickett was graduated from the Medical College in Augusta, Georgia about 1893. He practiced around Sumner, Worth County, Ga until about 1905, when he moved to Ty Ty, Tift Co, Ga. He practiced in Ty Ty until his death in 1924.
He married Katie Eliza Mcleod from Sumner, Worth County, GA and they had one daughter, Katie Ruth. When his wife died, Dr. Pickett then maried Martha Susan Grubbs of Sumner, Worth County, Georgia and they had daughters: Louise (Mrs. C. A. Harrell) and Mary who died in infancy.

Dr. Rube Pickett had 4 brothers and 5 sisters. Dr. Jeptha B. Pickett Jr. and Dr Frank Pickett were his brothers and at some time each of them practiced medicine in or around Ty Ty, Tift County, GA.
