Fannie K. Godfrey, widow of I.V. Godfrey, died Saturday, March 6, 2004, at National Health Care.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Laurens. She was formerly a resident of Greenville, where she was active in Monaghan Baptist Church and community activities.

She is survived by a daughter, Margaret Turner Banks, and husband, R. Truitt Banks, of Laurens; two grandchildren, J. Michael Turner Sr. and wife, Joy, and Joel H. Turner and wife, Sherry, all of Laurens; six great-grandchildren,
Michael Turner and wife, Mandi, of Laurens, Matthew Turner and wife, Meg, of Laurens, Nancy Turner of USC in Columbia, John Thomas Turner of Laurens, Elizabeth Staley of Columbia and Catherine Staley of Charleston.

She was predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters. One sister survives, Mrs. Helen Thompson, of Greenville.

Graveside services will be 4 p.m. today, March 7, 2004, at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville, conducted by Dr. Bev T. Kennedy Jr.

The family will be at 523 Dean Drive and will receive friends after the graveside service.

Memorials may be made to Laurens First Baptist Church, Music Ministry, 300 W. Main St., Laurens, SC 29360. -- Kennedy Mortuary, Laurens.
