s/o Charles H and Jennie L (Morse) Emerson; h/o (1) Blanche Hurlbutt whom he married in 1905; h/o (2) Maud Cushman whom he married in 1927.


He was a resident of Dalton, NH his entire life.


He owned and operated a general store here for more than thirty years.


He served as town clerk for 50 years and was a member of the NH Legislature for several terms. At one time he had been employed with the State Tax Commission.


He recently received an award from the Whitefield Savings Bank and Trust Co for his continuous service as a bank director since 1934.


He was a member of the Mount Eustice Chapter Order of Eastern Star Littleton the White Mountain Lodge No 86 A & FM Whitefield (recently receiving his 50 year pin) the Riverside Grange, Dalton, a deacon of the Dalton Congregational Church and as the oldest resident of the town held the Boston Post Cane.


He is survived by a son Dean W Emerson of Greenfield, MA; a stepson Floyd H Emerson of Tilton, NH; several grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
