service. He mustered in at Camp Taylor and was appointed 1st Lieutenant on 1 May
1861. He was promoted to Captain on 19 July 1861 after Battle of Scary Creek WV.
He mustered out with the Company in Columbus, OH. on 12 Aug 1861.

He re-enlisted 19 Sept. 1861 at Findlay OH. for a 3-year period of service. He
served as Captain of Co. D 21st OVI until he resigned on 20 Feb 1863.
