AFTON MAN DIES SUDDENLY

Albert Lorentz, well known Afton farmer, died suddenly yesterday at home of his daughter, Mrs. William Rentschler of Bay City.

He was 70 years old, being born at Bay Shore, Charlevoix County, on August 10, 1883. He moved onto the Afton farm 32 years ago, coming from Elmira.

His wife, Laura, died in 1949.

Survivors are five sons and daughers: Lloyd Lorentz and Mrs. William Rentschler of Bay City; Mrs. Stanley Wolfgang of Afton and Mrs. Clifford Roberts of Alpena; and Wilbur Lorentz, serving in the Navy on the USS Baltimore.

Other survivors are 13 grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Eva Richey of Clio.

The body arrived at the A.M. Schneider Funeral Home in Indian River this morning and will be there until 11 AM Thursday. The remains will then be taken to lie in state at the Free Methodist Church in Afton from 12 o'clock noon until the funeral services, which will be at 2 PM Thursday.

Interment will be in Silver Lake Cemetery, Wolverine.
