Betty D. Watkins of Federalsburg, MD passed away on Friday, Sept. 23, 2011 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, MD. She was 82.

She was born Oct. 23, 1928 in Harmony, MD, the daughter of the late Raymond Earl Patrick and Evelyn Quillen Patrick.

Her husband Howard Thomas Watkins preceded her in death on June 3, 1996.

She was a graduate of Caroline High School Class of 1945. In the 60's and 70's Betty owned and operated the "Bee-hive" beauty salon located in Hurlock.

She and her husband were managers at the Mulberry Hill Apartments in Easton for several years.

Betty was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post #5246 where she held various offices, Hurlock American Legion, Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the United Methodist Women at the Chestnut Grove Church near Federalsburg.

She is survived by three children, Jackie Todd (John) of Preston, Tommy Watkins of Fort Myers, FL, and Grady Watkins of Federalsburg, 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Dunn officiating.

Internment will follow at McKendree Cemetery in Rhodesdale. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
