HARWICH — Meredyth Van Zandt Brady, of Harwich, died peacefully Wednesday, October 12th at the age of 89. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard J. Brady , mother to the late Patricia K. Branson. She was also a loving sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Born in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Malcolm Van Zandt and Alice Meredyth. She was raised in Wisconsin and then moved to CT. She graduated from Teachers College of Connecticut and then received her Master's Degree in Education from Massachusetts State Teachers College. Meredyth taught 6th grade at the Henry C. Dwight School in Hartford, CT for many years. She was married to Richard J. Brady in 1959 and became the step mother to Diane, Patricia and Richard C. Brady. Meredyth was a lifelong summer resident of Harwich and moved to Harwich full time in 1980. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Meredyth was an active member at the Pilgrim Congregational Church in Harwich Port.

She is survived by her family; son Richard C. Brady of Sandwich; daughter Diane Brady Emin and her husband Blair J Emin of West Tisbury; her grandchildren, Shawn, Josh & Lucas Emin of West Tisbury; Carl Branson and his wife Amy of Reading and 3 great grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler and Bridget Branson. Her sister Nancy Miller and her husband Thomas of Williamsburg, VA; niece Nancie Miller and children Jessica, Jeremy and Caitlin of Toano, VA and nephew Thomas and family. She was also pre deceased by her sister Elise Van Zandt of Virginia.

Funeral Services will be held at the Pilgrim Congregational Church in Harwich Port on Tuesday, October 18th at 11 a.m. Burial Service to follow thereafter at National Cemetery in Bourne.
