MRS. CYNTHIA BENTLEY

Mrs. Cynthia Arnold, wife of the late Henry Bentley, passed away at her home on Hadley street Monday afternoon. She bad been in her usual health during the winter, but had failed rapidly for the past two weeks.

Mrs. Bentley was born in Saratoga county, but her early life was passed in the town of Mexico,-Oswego county, where she was married in 1844 to Henry Bentley, who away nearly four years ago. Since their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Bentley made their home for over sixty years in the town of Sandy Creek, being among our most esteemed citizens. Quiet and unassuming, Mrs. Bentley was always most highly respected by those who knew her. There survive her an adopted daughter, Mrs. Maria Loyejoy, of Ayer, Mass., who with her daughter, Miss Addie Lovejoy, are here, and an adopted son, Calvin Harrington, residing in the West. Following the death of Mr. Bentley, Mrs. Lovejoy remained here some three months with her mother and then Mrs. Bentley spent six months with Mrs. Lovejoy at Ayer, Mass., but preferring her home where she had lived for so many years, she has resided here, being visited frequently by Mrs. Lovejoy and looked after by her neighbors and friends. The funeral was held from her late home today, her pastor, Rev. W. M. Hydon, of the Methodist church officiating. The burial was beside her husband in Woodlawn cemetery
