Harry Lee Watson Jr., 47, of 1128 Hickory Rd, South Hills, district traffic manager for the Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Co., died last night at his home following a short illness. A native of Richmond, Va., he was born on Dec. 4, 1900, the son of the late Harry Lee and Lucie Beach Watson. Mr. Watson was graduated from Virginia Military Institute in 1921. He joined the telephone company the following year and was transferred from Richmond to Charleston two years ago. He was a member of the Grace and Holy Trinity Episcopal church of Richmond, the Rotary Club, the Elks Lodge and Descendants of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence, all of Richmond.
Surviving Mr. Watson are his wife, Ruth Morris Watson; two sons Harry Lee III and William Carter Watson, both of Charleston; a daughter, Miss Nancy White of Charleston; and three sisters, Mrs. Wm. H. Hoskins of Whitesville, NC, Mrs. Lewis Crews and Mrs. Durwood Nuckolls, both of Richmond, Va. The body is in the Simpson sanctuary where it will remain until Thursday evening and then be taken to Richmond, Va. for services Friday at 4 p.m. at the Grace and Holy Trinity Episcopal church followed by interment in the family plot in Hollywood cemetery.
